Denim Pictures Named ‘Company to Watch’ at Inaugural Screen Vixens Awards

We are thrilled to share that Denim Pictures has been recognised as Company to Watch at the inaugural Screen Vixens Awards.

Founded by Courtney Botfield and Kate Riedl, Denim Pictures was created to develop bold, audience-driven film and television with stories that resonate deeply and endure. To receive recognition from a community dedicated to supporting women in screen makes this acknowledgement especially meaningful.

As Courtney and Kate shared:

“Winning the Screen Vixen Award for Company to Watch is deeply meaningful to us because it comes from a community that actively champions equity, visibility and opportunity for women in screen. It feels like recognition not only of our creative ambition, but of our commitment to building a sustainable, female-led company and affirms that the way we are doing it matters just as much as what we are making.”

Over the past year, Denim has continued to build a slate of audience-focused, globally resonant projects driven by distinctive voices and strong creative partnerships. Current projects include Dreamboat, a comedy feature set aboard an Antarctic cruise currently in development with support from Screen Australia, and Before You Knew My Name, a television adaptation of Jacqueline Bublitz’s internationally bestselling novel.

Company to Watch feels like meaningful recognition of the path Denim is building, with a continued focus on developing compelling stories, championing female-led creative voices and creating work with both audience and global ambition at its core.

We would like to thank Screen Vixens for creating a platform that champions women producers and the broader screen community working to create meaningful change across the industry. We are also grateful to our collaborators, writers, partners and supporters who continue to come on this journey with us.

We’re only getting started.

We can’t recommend becoming part of the Screen Vixens community highly enough. Their work championing visibility, connection and opportunity for women in screen is creating meaningful impact across the industry. Learn more and become a member here.
